During tonight’s shift I was kicked in the chest twice by a coherent and oriented patient. There’s nothing insightful or deep about this. I physically hurt and simply wanted to verbalize it to someone, even if it was the void.

Petrichor 
This makes me so sad. For you, for all healthcare workers this has and will happen to. One abuse that has stuck with me wasn’t even physical. I was a float tech my last year of nursing school. I was sent to the TICU to be a CO. I was there all night, 7p-7a while this patient was going through withdrawal. He verbally abused me for 12 hours. He almost hit me twice but thankfully his restraints actually worked. I still remember his face, some of the most crude things he said to me, and how no one should be in that situation, much less for 12 hours straight.. Love you and miss you friend.
